PERSONALITY: Until the age of fifteen, Jeremy was like any other kid his age, however after his parents died that same year, he changed drastically. He began skipping school and doing drugs in order to forget about the world around him; a world that he didn't care about anymore. To make things worse, Jeremy began sleeping with Vicki Donovan, who was older than him and only saw him as a means to have fun while Jeremy inevitably fell in love with her. Jeremy is extremely loyal to those he cares about and it was this trait, and sometimes flaw, that lead him to stick by Vicki even after she'd, unbeknownst to him, been turned into a vampire, despite Elena's repeated attempts to dissuade him. To add to Jeremy's losses, Vicki is killed by Stefan, leading Jeremy to slide into a depression that might have taken over completely had Elena not asked Damon to compel him to forget.

As a result of Damon's compulsion, Jeremy slowly began to become the person he had been before his parents' death. He began attending classes again and threw himself into his schoolwork, his determination renewed. However, it wasn't until he met Anna that he truly began to live again and feel passionately about something again. Upon finding out that not only was Anna a vampire, but that Vicki had been as well, he asks Anna to turn him and is devastated when she refused. His devastation only gets worse when Anna is killed, leading Jeremy to believe that everyone he cares about winds up dead and as a result, he attempts to turn himself by drinking a vial of blood, given to him by Anna before she died, and overdosing.

Fortunately, the attempt didn't work and Jeremy came out of it realizing that he had to be strong for those he cared about in order to protect them and try and prevent anyone else from dying. Despite feeling betrayed by Elena, for not telling him the truth about Vicki and everything else that was going on, when Damon tried to kiss her, Jeremy tried to protect her and wound up getting his neck snapped by Damon, who thought he would come back as a vampire. Unbeknownst to anymore though, Jeremy wore the ring given to him by his Uncle John and it brought him back. Jeremy and Elena reconciled and now that he was in on the supernatural side of Mystic Falls, he once again felt useful and was determined to help when the time came.

He also, finally, found a girl who would have a positive influence on him. His feelings for Bonnie Bennett and his track record with girls, led Jeremy to be extremely protective of her, often showing his concern when it came to her part in the plot to kill Klaus.

ABILITIES: Jeremy doesn't really have any special abilities except a ring that prevents him from being killed by supernatural means as long as he's wearing it.
